Sequin Clips Covers for round snap clips

We have been receiving emails the past couple years from some people who wish to purchase only a single color from our appliques instead of purchasing the variety pack. In order to better meet the demand of our master crafters, we have started to move our appliques into single colors. We have also lowered the quantity in which we sell them so that multiple colors can be purchased. We have begun this process by making all of our new appliques sold in single colors.

Be sure that when you purchase your appliques, look at the title to see if they are sold in single colors. If they are, please go into the listing to pick the color. Once an applique has been changed into single colors, we will be unable to send variety packs.

Pinch clips are one of the most popular hair accessories that we sell. These are great for making fun hair clippies for infants, toddler, and adults.

We have pinch clips without teeth, with teeth, double prong, and rectangular. All but the double prong pinch clips are sold in 24 pieces and 144 pieces. The double prong pinch clips are sold in 50 pieces and 100 pieces. The come in both 35mm and 50mm. The 35mm ones are perfect size for your young ones.

Single prong pinch clips

The 35mm single prong pinch clips are perfect for infants and young children. They are strong enough to stay in fine hair. The 45mm single prong pinch clips are a great size for children and adults. The pinch clips with teeth provide a better grasp to the hair and are great for your active little ones. We sell these in 25mm, 30mm, 35mm, and 45mm. The 35mm and 30mm are great for infants, while the 35mm and 45mm are great for older children and adults. You can easily attach a flower to these clips using some of our felt shapes.

We have recently expanded our supply of rectangular pinch clips with teeth. These are great for lining with ribbon and embellishing them. We currently have these sizes in stock: 20mm, 30mm, 45mm, and 80mm. The 45mm and 80mm are great to create hair accessories for adults. The 20mm would be prefect for infants and the 30mm would work for children. The teeth provide a tight grip so you or your child can remain active while still looking good.

We have recently added D-rings to our inventory. D-rings can be used for a variety of projects. They are great for straps, belts, and tie-downs. They can be sewn onto backpacks and clothing as well.
We have two different sizes of D-rings. There are 1" by 1 3/4" and 1 1/2" by 2 1/4". They have a silver finish to them. They are sold in either a quantity of 24 or 144.

All of the female athletes are wearing them! These sequin headbands spice up any outfit. They can be worn with any attire. These headbands are fun and add a little bling to your hair.

We have a wide variety of colors available. We sell these in Crystal AB, Black, Pink, Fuchsia, Silver, and Purple. The sequins on these headbands change colors when the light hits them a certain way. Chinese Braids - What do we use these for?

Chinese braid ribbon can be used to hide the imperfections of under the headbands and to hide the seams of ribbon or fabric covered headbands. You line these under the headband just as you would line the top of the headband with ribbon.

Some creative crafters have used these to give the headbands a grip so that they do not slip off of the head so often.

We offer them in both white and black and they are sold in incremements of five yards.

NEW PRODUCT FEATURE: Felt Rounds

Attaching flowers or other embellishments to headbands and clips can be a hassle but not when you use the almighty felt rounds! It is simple to use them. All you need to do is attach the felt round to the embellishment and then attach it to the hardware of your choice.

We also supply felt ovals which make attaching flowers to pinch clips easy. They are great for attaching embellishments to non-flat surfaces.

We make crafting easy by offering a variety of sizes to work with. You can find 20mm, 25mm, 35mm, and 50mm in our shop. We currently have one size of felt ovals which can easily be trimmed to a smaller size.

Our felt shapes all come in the same six colors: White, Black, Red, Pink, Purple, and Green. They are sold in single colors at a quantity of 10.

Who says that felt rounds can only be used to attach embellishments to hardware? There are many other uses for these felt shapes. Check out this tutorial by Miranda of One Little Minute on making flowers using felt (No need to cut the felt into circles. We have done that for you!).

Be sure to check out the fillet tape and fillet disks as a way to avoid the mess of glue.

Plastic Headbands & GIVEAWAY

Our plastic headbands are great for lining with ribbon and adding embellishments. We sell a wide variety of plastic headbands. It is like shopping in a candy store, there is so much to choose from!

We have three styles of headbands. We have regular plastic headbands, plastic headbands with teeth, and non-tapered headbands. Our plastic headbands with teeth are great for those active children and adults. The teeth provide a grip so that they stay put throughout the day.

Most of our plastic headbands come in both black and white. The white headbands are not bleach white but more if like an ivory. Our headbands can be worn as is but most choose to line them with ribbon and decorate them.

The non-tapered headbands are the same width from end to end. This makes it easy for those who want to line the top of the headband with either a headband liner or ribbon. We offer non-tapered in both 5mm and 14mm. We currently do not have ribbon small enough to line the 5mm but you can easily wrap ribbon around these. In order to line the 14mm non-tapered headbands, 5/8" Ribbon works best to cover the entire width of the headband. You can use 1/2" ribbon but since the headband is exactly 1/2" in width, it can be a little hard.

The plastic headbands come in a wide variety of sizes. Below is a list of all of the plastic headbands that you can find in our shop.

Product Feature: Fabric Covered Flatbacks

Fabric covered flatbacks are great for many different craft projects. They can be great embellishments for hair accessories, such as clips, bobby pins, and headbands. They are also perfect for scrapbooking, quilting, card making, and other projects.

We sell stars, hearts, bows, round, and we have recently added square fabric covered flatbacks. We sell most of the designs in both small and large.

All of our shapes and sizes come in white, fuchsia, light pink, and kiwi. While the new squares come in fuchsia, navy, tan, and purple. Some of the shapes also come in pink and tan plaid. They are all sold in quantities of four. This makes is easy to create two pairs of clips!

The back of the flatbacks are metal. This makes it easy to attach them to clips, headbands, or scrapbooks. You can use hot glue, super glue, or a piece of double sided fillet tape.

Step by Step Instructions on How to Create a Woven Headband

BEFORE YOU START, YOU WILL NEED:
1. PLASTIC HEADBAND (14mm, 20mm, 25mm, or 35mm)

2. 3/8” SOLID GROSGRAIN RIBBON (we are using two colors but at some point, you can add or reduce the colors to your choice).
3. 45MM SINGLE PRONG PINCH CLIPS (6 PIECES)
4. MEASURING TAPE or RULER
5. GLUE GUN with ALL-TEMP GLUE STICK
6. SCISSORS
7. LIGHTER (for sealing the ends of the ribbons)

PREPARATION BEFORE WEAVING:
1. First, you will need to measure out the amount of ribbon required for this project. You will need approximately, 36” – 40” (90cm – 100cm) per ribbon. Measure out 4 pieces of ribbon in the length indicated, in two different colors. In this project, we used PINK (for the center) and BROWN (for the side).
2. Seal the edge of one side of each ribbon by gently running a lighter through it. This will protect the ribbons from fraying.
3. You are now ready to begin.

INSTRUCTIONS:

STEP 1: Put a small bead of glue onto one end of the PINK ribbon. Adhere one end of the BROWN ribbon onto the PINK ribbon approximately ¼” (0.5cm) of overlapping. Repeat Step 1 to make the other piece of the ribbon combo. Now you are ready to glue the ribbons to the plastic headband.

STEP 2: With one end of the plastic headband facing you, glue the center of the ribbon combo on the inside of one end of the plastic headband. Make sure that the PINK ribbon is pointing to the end of the plastic headband.

STEP 3: Flip over the plastic headband with the top facing upwards, glue the center of the other ribbon on the top edge of the headband. Make sure that the PINK ribbon is pointing to the end of the plastic headband. Once you’ve had both sides of the plastic headbands covered with both ribbons – one on eside, it should look like an “X” with both PINK ribbons pointinto the top and BROWN ribbons pointing to the bottom.

STEP 4: Add a dab of glue on the top edge of the headband where it is covered by the ribbon. Bring the bottom left PINK ribbon over to cover the top seam. You will now have the bottom PINK ribbon on the right side of the headband.

STEP 5: Add a dab of glue on the bottom edge of the headbdand where it is covered by the ribbon. Bring the top left PINK ribbon over to cover the bottom seam. You will now have the top PINK ribbon on the left side of the headband.

STEP 6: Bring the top right PINK ribbon under, over to the left side of the headband. You should now have two PINK ribbons and one BROWN ribbon on the left side of the headband, with one remaining BROWN ribbon on the right side of the headband.

STEP 7: Add a dab of glue on the top of the headband and bring the remaining BROWN ribbon from the bottom, over to the top of the headband, onto the left side. You will now have all four ribbons on the left side of the headband.

STEP 8: Add a dab of glue on to the BROWN top ribbon, and using the PINK ribbon that is second from the left, flip it over the top and move it to the right side of the headband.

STEP 9: This is the last step before you go back to the very beginning of the repeating “step-by-step” weave. Bring the very top BROWN ribbon on the left side, under and over to the bottom right side of the headband. You are now back to the very beginning of the weave.

To cover the entire headband, you will need to keep repeating STEPS 5 to 9, all the way to the end of the headband. Note that before you start STEP 5, your ribbons should be in the original starting position where the top right ribbon is PINK, the bottom right ribbon is BROWN, the top left ribbon is BROWN and the bottom left ribbon is PINK. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes as it’s very easy to unravel and return back to the starting position as described, in regards to the ribbon positions.

USEFUL TIPS:
1. Use the pinch clips to hold the ribbons in place after you’ve repeated several times of Steps 5 to 9.
2. After so many weaves, it’s important to add a dab of glue to hold the ribbons in place.
3. Keep adding pinch clips to hold the ribbons in place as you weave around the headband.
4. Constantly check the tension of the ribbon to make sure that you are not pulling too tight or weaving it too loosely.

FINISHING OFF: To finish off the headband, you would want to weave all the way to the end. As you approach the end of the headband, you should start adding a dab of glue to every weave in order to secure every ribbon into place. Cut off the remainder of the ribbon tails, leaving behind approximately 1” (2.5cm). Then, start tucking and gluing the end pieces into place as neatly as possible. The last piece that is to be used to cover the seams, remember to run the lighter through in order to seal the edges of the ribbon, before gluing into place.

AND, VOILA! YOU HAVE YOURSELF A BEAUTIFUL PIECE OF WOVEN HEADBAND! HAPPY CRAFTING!

Tutorial on Lining Pinch Clips with Ribbon

Materials:
1. Rectangular Alligator Pinch Clips (Can also use rectangular snap clips)
2. Scissors
3. Fillet Tape (or another form of adhesive)
4. 3/8" Ribbon (Velvet ribbon is used for this tutorial)

Step by Step Instructions:

1. While holding the clip upside down, open the clip and stick the end of the fillet tape on the bottom of the top of the clip so that you are able to line the top of the clip. Close the clip.

2. Take the fillet tape and wrap it around to the top of the clip. If you mess up you can slowly peel it off and re-line it as it takes 24 hours for the tape to be made permanent. Then cut the remaining fillet tape leaving about a 1/4" to wrap under the pinch part of the clip.

3. Cut the remaining fillet tape, leaving about 1/4" to wrap under the clip. Wrap the remaing fillet tape under the clip.

4. Starting where you began lining the clip with the fillet tape, begin peeling the backing of the tape to expose the other sticky side. Do not peel off all of it. Only peel enough to make the end of the ribbon stick to the bottom of the clip (where you began lining the clip with the tape).

5. Once the ribbon is placed in the clip, peel the rest of the backing off of the tape. You can now line the clip with the ribbon by sticking it to the fillet tape.

6. Cut the remaining ribbon leaving approximately 1/4" to wrap under the clip. You may want to place a dab of hot glue or fabric glue at the end of the ribbon before sticking the remaining 1/4" under the clip. This is will make sure that the end of the ribbon does not unstick before the fillet tape is permanent. There is not need for the glue at the beginning as the clip will hold it in place.

7. You can now embellish the lined clip with appliques, flatbacks, rosettes, or flowers.

8. For gift ideas, you can clip the made clips to a display card. You can even place the card into an organza bag. These are great for party, wedding, and baby shower favors!

The Wonderful Creation of Filet Tape

Filet tape is a perfect substitute for fabric glue and hot glue. They are great for lining hair clips and headbands with ribbon and attaching embellishments to clips and headbands.

The filet tape is very easy to use. It is applied just like double sided tape. It takes a full 24 hours for the tape to become permanent. It is very strong and will keep your hair accessories in good shape.

Filet tape is better than glue at attaching ribbon to clips as the glue can often come out uneven and create lumps and bubbles. The filet tape will prevent that. It also eliminate the mess that often comes with using glue.

We currently sell the filet tape in spools of 36 yards. They are thin enough to line 3/8" ribbon. In September, we will have 10-yard spools available as well as round disk shape filet tape that works well with adhering flowers or embellishments onto clips and headbands. Stay tuned!

We have been busy trying to figure out whether if we could get to this blogging thingamajig and it truly has been challenging since we've been swamped with orders and new products coming into our warehouse.
